CoEx4 agrochemicals

When packaging chemicals, protection of the environment is a key consideration. Diffusion of the aggressive filling material through the container wall into the environment should be prevented in any case.

This is reliably achieved in container production by special layers of plastics with barrier layers.

In our CoEx4 technology, the inner layer of PA serves as a barrier. It is bonded to the main layer of HDPE and regranulate with an adhesive layer. Recyclates and regranulates can also be reused in CoEx applications.

CoEx5 agrochemicals

When packaging chemicals, protecting the environment is a key consideration. Diffusion of the aggressive filling material through the container wall into the environment should be prevented in all cases.

This is reliably achieved in container production by special layers of plastics with barrier layers.

In our CoEx5 technology, the inner layer of PA serves as a barrier. It is bonded to the middle layer of HDPE with an adhesive layer. The special feature of the CoEx5 technology is that it uses its own layer of PCR-HDPE to close the recyclable material loop by recycling recycled materials. The single-variety PCR-HDPE does not require any further adhesives and can save virgin material, depending on the PCR content.

CoEx5 medicine

In pharmaceutical and medical applications, health is paramount. Sterility is the top priority here. Eye drop bottles, plasma bags, infusion containers and other medical packaging are produced under cleanroom conditions.

The design of the packaging is usually based on the corresponding area of application. Special requirements for the container properties are achieved by a multilayer structure of the container wall, which consists of plastics with different properties.

The barrier also ensures a particularly long shelf life for your very expensive medical products.

CoEx6

The CoEx6 technology is mainly used in the automotive sector, but it is also used in cosmetics packaging and for food packaging (most prominent example: ketchup bottles). The virgin inner layer prevents the contents from coming into contact with the barrier layer, which is essential for some goods.

If the EVOH barrier layer has a proportion below 6% of the total weight, the plastic part is 100% recyclable in the EU and can be returned to the recyclable material cycle.

In our sample, the EVOH barrier content is 5% (3% in the barrier layer and 2% in the main layer due to the incorporation of regrind). It is possible in the vast majority of applications to keep the percentage below 6%. The perfect all-round distribution of the W. MÜLLER extrusion heads ensures a stable and consistent quality of the functional layer, even in the low percentage range.
