Everything starts with the melt; the extruder is the first very important instance to the perfect article.

Without a homogeneous melt, even the best die head is powerless. In this all-day seminar, you will learn how to achieve this, what to look out for and how to get the best out of your extruders. It includes a practical part, which also provides clear examples in digital form on one of our laboratory machines in the technical center and will help you in the future to select the perfect extruder or to optimize your existing extruders. You will also learn about optimal settings for your materials and lots of tips and tricks to make your everyday life easier.

The topics in detail:

      Theory:

      • Functional description
      • mechanical design and components
      • Requirements for the extruder
      • Concepts and applications
      • What actually makes a good extruder?
      • Faults and defects
      • What can our extruder itself tell us?
      • Mixing and filtering

      Practice:

      • Extruder to touch, what does it look like from the inside?
      • Screw concepts to touch
      • Extruder in production: how is it operated?
      • Extruder in test operation
      • Interpreting and documenting live process data
      • Simulating error patterns

This seminar can be held as a digital course via Microsoft Teams. You will receive all the necessary information from us in advance on how to technically participate in the course.
You will receive documentation after the course and at the end of the course you will have the opportunity to ask questions.
